The news these days is hard, triggering, heartbreaking. Today I am coping by dreaming of a world safe, peaceful and respectful for all children and women everywhere. And I don’t think I am just a dreamer. History has models. The photos here are of “Les béguinages,” communities of women in medieval Europe, living and working together, without taking vows or retiring from the world. These communities flourished in homes and on land owned by women, connected by a common wall or garden, with a common intention to live well, live free and to do good. The Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaarde, arranged around a large, central courtyard of white houses and trees, is a UNESCO heritage site which can still be visited in South Bruges today. In that enclosed, quiet space, everything faces inward, toward a shared center. It was a way of life that was connected, but with privacy; empowered, yet humble; simple, but full of beauty; communal, without strict demands; peaceful, and dynamically creative, prosperous, alive.I love the idea of it being multi-generational, too. Women of all ages inspiring, supporting, nurturing sisters in all facets of life. Of course, in my dream, we grow food, flowers, herbs, and natural products for market. We make things with our hands, we run free with animals, children, rivers and sunny breezes. We have communal meals, meditations, and healings for larger community. We love, we laugh, we sing, we rise. What do you think? Have you ever dreamed of living in nature, or in beauty, with a group of like-minded women, creating and prospering in dynamic, inspired community? Who are your women?Women once lived like this - safe, supported, together. I feel something like this calling us again. We are healing. We will rise. But I don’t feel we are meant to do this alone. Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own was a revolution. A *community of one’s own* - intentional, respectful, loose, but connected- feels like the next evolution. Who are your sisters? __#beguinage #community #womenstrong #womensupportingwomen #togetherwerise ... See MoreSee Less

New Moon Ashwini, Aries April 17, 4:50am PT | 12:50pm UTCAshwini is the first nakshatraa of the zodiac. Ashwini is the healer, symbolized by the Ashwin Kumars, the twins said to have brought Ayurveda to earth from above. It is a “devic” nakshatra, giving a sattvic, pure light, a benefic glow. Ashwini is said to give “a marvellous power to heal.” It has electrical energy and the power of quick action. Its desire is to rid the world of disease. Its gifts are energy, rejuvenation, transformation. So this is an auspicious new moon. Beautiful for healing, for learning healing traditions, for bringing more light into your life in whatever way feels soothing. It’s also a good time to pray for healing in our world. Meditation and prayers done with this new moon will have an extra power, a super boost from this super moon. New Moon Prompts🌕 What needs healing?🌕 What is ready to be healed?🌕 Am I ready to increase my own powers as a healer?🌕 What is seeking my bold and swift response?🌕 What is seeking my Truth? My Leadership? 🌕 Can we imagine freedom from suffering?🌕 Can we imagine a world rid of conflict and disease?🌕 How might we contribute to making that a reality?May it bring peace 🙏🏽🕊️—#jyotish #vedicastrology #sidereal #newmoon #ashwini ... When Mars and Saturn occupy the same sign, it forms what is known as Yama Yoga — named for Yama, the god of death and dharmic justice. Its qualities are discipline, obstacles, and perseverance. In 2024, this yoga was active for 38 days, from March 15 to April 23, with April 10th the heart of it, in Aquarius. You can look back in history to see what that period was like. Mars is quick, determined, passionate, decisive. Saturn is slow, methodical, uncompromising. When they share the same sign, it’s a strong feeling of push-pull. Mars is a fiery planet, and Saturn is air, wind, Vata. So their conjoining can also be like fire with strong gusts behind it, a wildfire - unpredicatably dangerous. This conjunction can bring friction and sudden disruptions, but when handled consciously, it can produce power and endurance. Look where Pisces is in your Jyotish, or Sidereal chart to see where this may be playing out in your body, and life. It is in the 8th house for the US Prez and one version of Iran’s chart, who both also have Ketu across their Ascendant by sign and Nakshatra (Magha). Once we are past the exact degree conjunction on the 19th/20th, things begin to lighten up. But pay attention to the pressure leading up. Let’s all do what we can to diffuse it, or direct it to Good. Light workers alight! After a year that has given us challenging transits, and events, to date, things begin to ease up later this month. Jupiter goes to Cancer in June, and the Kala Sarpa breaks in July.Akshaya Tritiya is usually the most auspicious day of the year, but this year it falls on the same days as the Mars Saturn conjunction. Perhaps that will help ease the intensity. April 18-20 are good days to avoid crowds, travel, confrontations. Deep breaths, deep sadhana, prayers for all living beings. Let’s harness this energy for enlightening transformation. All love 🙏🏽__#jyotish #sidereal #aprilastrology #marssaturn #conjunct ... See MoreSee Less
