I’ve been loving cabbage this season. It is so easy to throw together, and is so refreshing. Plus, it feels good to know you are giving yourself something so purifying, even as it nourishes.
This simple recipe is made with a whole cabbage which, once tossed with salt and lime juice, shrinks way down. It serves 4, but it really, it’s hard not to eat it all yourself.

Crunchy Lime Cabbage
Inspired by the Teton Village Clubhouse and remembered by @myglobalpantry
Ingredients
1 green cabbage
1 lime
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup roasted salted peanuts, chopped
Pink salt, to taste
Option: Chives or scallions, finely chopped (I don’t add this, for summer it is too heating, but the original recipe calls for it, so I add for you to decide)
Option: Small handful mint
Instructions
Thinly slice the cabbage (removing the thick inner stem). Add two large pinches of salt and mix well. Grate lime zest into the bowl, then squeeze the juice of the lime and toss. Cover and allow the cabbage to sit at least 30 minutes.
Carefully pour out any juice that has accumulated at the bottom of the bowl. *The second time I made this I rinsed the cabbage as I found it too salty to just drain.
Stir in the oil, peanuts, sesame seeds. Salt to taste, and enjoy. If you are adding mint, tear into pieces and garnish.

Perhaps you’d like to enjoy your cabbage with cup of Rose, Hibiscus CCF tea to aid digestion. In summer’s heat we can feel hot and bothered, or heat-exhausted. CCF Tea gently supports digestion, while rose and hibiscus cool, and dilate the channels for better flow.

Oooh Laura, this cabbage salad recipe sounds delicious, can’t wait to try it. Hibiscus tea is my favorite thing to enjoy in the heat, so I’m happy to throw my name into the hat for a chance at the BB brand. Thank you for all that you share w your community. Love, Erika
Lots of love Erika! Hope you’ve had a good summer.
Sounds like another fun recipe 🙂
I guess soaking the cabbage in the lime makes it more digestible?
Yes, lime is sour and sour is the taste that most powerfully supports digestion. Plus, lime is a bit cooler than the other citrus options, so ideal for summer.
The packaging for this tra is beautiful. Thanks for sharing the cabbage recipe
Befitting of the tea itself! It’s as good.
Looks tasty!! I would add pecans instead of peanuts (which i avoid).
I am loving mint sprinkled on fresh watermelon!!! 💕💕
Yes, pecans is a great choice. Since they are a bit soft, pistachios could also work. Lmk what you think.
I am planning on shredding a garden fresh cabbage tomorrow to make sauerkraut. It looks like I’ll need another head of cabbage to make this delicious looking salad! I’m so grateful to receive email updates from food-alovestory.com! Thanks Laura🥰
