Full Moon: Swati, LibraMay 1, 10:20am PT | 6:20pm UTCSwati is ruled by Vayu, the power of Wind. Vayu also represents the divine breath of God.The word ‘Swati’ is has two roots, Su and Ati. Su means something that leads to well-being and is good and pure, as in Sukha (root of the English words succor and sugar). Ati means abundance. So Swati suggests purity and goodness in abundance. Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, arts and music, is associated with Swati nakshatra. Saraswati is the flow of purity and higher consciousness.Swati Nakshatra is associated with independence, balance, diplomacy, trade, negotiation, buying and selling, travel, learning, creativity, art, harmony, and adaptability. The symbol of Swati Nakshatra is a young shoot or plant swaying in the wind representing resilience, adaptability, grounding and rooting to be able go with the flow and grow. With this very airy, windy, scattering energy of the Full Moon, watch for restlessness, feeling ungrounded, or spacy. Stay with your breath to harmonize your inner “winds” and check out my blog @food.a.love.story for recipes and tips to balance Vata. This full moon may bring about an energy for positive change, a new direction, even a new career or professional flow, the courage to try something new. It may also bring joyful travel, artistic explorations, and sweet meditations. Practices 🍃Observe your breath🍃Cultivate a practice of breathwork🍃Dharana (single-pointed concentration) on the prana within🍃Journal freely, allowing stream of consciousness, creativity and full imagination🍃Meditate on the inner Naad, the inner rivers, listening for the sound streams withinPrompts ✨ What part of your life could benefit from new energy?✨ Where are you inspired to try something new, or be more independent?✨ What are your relationships needing in this time?✨ Is now a good time to negotiate for something more nourishing? ✨ How does art, music, dance, poetry, writing, creativity nourish your soul? ✨ How can you make time for all that cultivates prana, the source of healing and connection with consciousness?__#jyotish #vedicastrology #sidereal #swati #fullmoon ... “The peace we seek cannot be our personal possession. We need to find an inner peace which makes it possible for us to become one with those who suffer and to do something to help them.”~ Thich Nhat Hanh__#wisdom #peace #thichnhathanh #mindbodyspirit #spirituality ... See MoreSee Less

Recently, @gajacollective hosted a wisdom gathering where the question of “guru” came up. The brilliant @sarahplattfinger shared the saying that a true teacher sets you free. He/she doesn’t seek your dependence or affirmation. A true teacher gives you mastery so you can go forth and create, operate, manage or even educate others. A true teacher sends you back to yourself. What do you think? What’s been your experience, both as a teacher and as student? Who have been your best teachers? What can we learn from them? __* I do not know the provenance of this piece of art. It looks Tibetan. If anyone knows please share, so I can give proper credit. #trueteacher #teacher #guru #learn #master ... See MoreSee Less
