The Full Moon in Shravana: Vedic Astrology & A Time for Deep ListeningOn 29th July at 3:35pm UTC, the Moon will be full in Shravana Nakshatra, one of the most sacred constellations in Vedic astrology. Falling in the earth sign of Capricorn, this particular full moon also coincides with Guru Purnima, which we will explore below. While many people are familiar with zodiac signs in Western astrology, Vedic astrology offers another lens through which to understand ourselves and the rhythms of nature. Rather than focusing solely on the twelve zodiac signs, it also places great significance on the 27 nakshatras, or lunar constellations, each carrying its own unique energy and symbolism. This Full Moon invites us to embrace one of the greatest gifts we can offer ourselves and others: the ability to truly listen.Understanding Vedic Astrology Signs and NakshatrasWhen people search for Vedic astrology signs, they're often referring to the twelve zodiac signs, known as rashis, including Aries, Taurus, Gemini and Capricorn.Alongside these signs sit the nakshatras, or lunar mansions, through which the Moon travels approximately every 27 days. Each nakshatra represents a distinct quality of consciousness and offers guidance for the energy of that moment.Read all about this month's Full Moon, which occurs in Shravana Nakshatra, one of the most contemplative and spiritually significant of all 27, and how it may impact you. ... Today’s New Moon is in Punarvasu Nakshatra. It was together with the Sun in Gemini at exact degree this morning at 02:43am Pacific time (10:43 UTC). The word Punarvasu comes from Puna+Vasu, which means return, renewal, restoration or repetition - to make good again. Punarvasu means to start afresh after having once broken off, to start a new life, to come back from a distant land. It stands for freedom from restriction, and boundless space. > Not a surprise then that on July 14, 1789, the first Bastille Day, had the Sun and Mercury in Punarvasu. (Moon with Saturn in Pisces and an exalted Jupiter with Venus in Pushya.)Aditi, the Shakti associated with infinity and unboundedness is the deity of Punarvasu. Mother Aditi, “of whom the Gods are born”, is the repository of everything good - truth, generosity, magnanimity, purity, aristocracy, beauty and renown. Punarvasu’s symbol of a Quiver of Arrows is associated with a long-distance vision, with imagination and aiming into unknown. The Quiver is also symbolic of replenishment and home, so this is a very healing, restorative moon cycle. This will be a good time to rest up and prepare for the future. Punarvasu is philosophical, seeing the big picture, with energy and enthusiasm. With Mercury retrograde, in Gemini, so with the moon as it awakened again, now is a good time for writing, researching, reviewing, editing, also dreaming, envisioning, meditating, retreating. Punarvasu’s planetary ruler is Jupiter. It is Sattvic, Devic, and considered one of the most luminous of the Nakshatras. 🌙What is in your heart to heal?🌙 Do you allow yourself to rest? 🌙 What in your life is ready for needs renewal?🌙Is there a high and mighty vision this lunar cycle can help you realize? Now as I write, the Moon has moved over into Cancer. It remains in Punarvasu until 11:39am Pacific time, when it moves to Pushya Nakshatra, the blossoming of our renewal. It’s a sweet time. Let’s enjoy, and see what it brings. 🌙💛#jyotish #sidereal #vedic #vedicastrology newmoon ... See MoreSee Less
