My favorite thing is to lie down on the earth, or by the water, and stare at the trees, the flowers, or the waves and watch the play of light, in the evening the dappled light, listening to the birds. Ever since my teen years, I’ve noticed each May brings this overwhelming desire to do nothing but sit back and watch while nature celebrates life. Long ago, a Jyotishi told me that Taurus (begins in May) is the laziest of signs. I’d dispute that strong. But here I am (Taurus Lagna) wanting to do nothing but lie by a river and watch the play of nature and light. Is that lazy? Or is that a reset? It feels beautiful, and for now, it feels like the whole purpose of my life. What’s your take? And where do you go to lie down and let nature take the reins for a bit? __#maryoliver #igpoetry #may #springreset #natureheals ... See MoreSee Less

The property of water is to cohere. And what is it to cohere? To hold together firmly as parts of the same mass; to display cohesion; to become united in principles, relationships, or interests; to be logically or aesthetically consistent. (Websters)Water molecules tend to cohere, so water falls from the sky in drops, not as separate molecules. If you dropped earth on top or a mountain what would it do? If it were dry, it’d scatter. But if you drop water on top of a mountain as rain does, it forms a lake or a river. It finds itself, and holds together. Water molecules also adhere to molecules of other substances, so raindrops will often cling to the underside of a clothesline for a while before gravity pulls them down.As we are mostly water ourselves, maybe water is seeking to find itself through us. Maybe cohesion is our nature, and anything else is an anomaly? How do you remember your innate cohesion? __#Ayurveda #water #ojas #soma #oneness ... See MoreSee Less
